Welcome to Savonnières
Savonnières is a charming French village of 3000 inhabitants, about 9 miles/15 kilometres away from the city of Tours in the center of the Loire Valley. It is located in a natural setting on the banks of the Cher River and on the “Loire à Vélo” bike trail.
It is a good starting point to visit the Renaissance castles nearby : the Château de Villandry and its wonderful gardens less than 2 miles/3 kilometres away, the Château d’Azay-le-Rideau built in the 16th century during the reign of Francis I, the small but very lovely Château de l’Islette, also located in Azay-le-Rideau, and many more.
You can also go for a walk along the river or on the hillside which provides beautiful sights on the Cher and its surroundings, undertake a tour by bicycle on the “Loire à Vélo” bike trail, have a nice meal in one of the local restaurants or rent a canoe in order to discover the Cher differently.
Enjoy your stay.
